Great Travel Moment

We were four New York business colleagues, conspiring to make an early escape from the corporate business meetings we were attending in Phoenix, Arizona - and 'run away' to the Grand Canyon before heading back to the big apple. It was mid-February; what a treat to find ourselves on the Bright Angel Trail on a windless, snowy day. The sky was a beautiful silver-grey, the light soft and clear. I can recall the snow falling gently around me, the sublime stillness, the scents of earth, rock, and snow, as I stopped to take this picture. I remember feeling grounded with a heightened sense of presence, as if this scene were reflecting my own often unacknowledged, silent, rock-solid core.
