Great Travel Moment This photo was taken by my cosuin and I have full permission in it's use. At the time this was built it rivaled anything built in Western Europe at the time. The Hungarian Queen, a relative of the Medici's in Italy brought Rennaisance Architecture to Hungary...along with the artisans. The architecure of this and other buildings in Budapest rival anything in Western Europe. Therefore the moniker, "Paris of The East". This holds significant interest to me as I am a amateur architecture buff and posses a minor in Art History. Also, hopefully to find/locate my Hungarian relatives somewhere there in the surrounding countryside. |
