Great Travel Moment

Many of my travel adventures have been "roughing it" a bit; staying on a budget, enjoying bread and cheese picnics rather than room service. Now, I wouldn't change those things, there is a charm to it (most of the time) but sometimes it's nice to be waited on a bit and have a taste of those certain luxuries that remind you that you are indeed on a vacation. So here I am, (or at least my knees!) by my favorite pool of my favorite eco-tourist destination, the Gamboa Rainforest Resort in Panama. That air is washed by the tropical rain, the water in the pool is refreshing and the scenery is unsurpassed. The rainforest is alive with birds and howler monkeys, the Chagres River is below us and the capiberas are grazing on the lawn. You can have drinks delivered to you in the lounge chairs or sit on a bar stool in the pool. Oh yes!
