Great Travel Moment Just two days before this photo was taken, we were international students lost in the Namib Desert, with our car low on gas, not to mention stuck in a sand pit. After getting rescued from that mess by a local man and continuing across the desert to Swakopmund, Namibia, we were nervous to engage in some of the adventure sports so characteristic of the region like skydiving, sea kayaking and sand boarding (pictured here). But we clearly enjoyed barreling down some of the world's highest sand dunes together with the sun shining and the wind in our faces. Our Spring Break road trip in Namibia was full of adventure, beauty, danger, and speedy tandem rides down sand dunes with friends-a far cry from Boston College and even the University of Cape Town, where we had been studying for only a few weeks before this trip. |
