Great Travel Moment Walking down the street in McLeod Ganj India I was approached by a trio of homeless children. The youth in India are incredibly curious, especially when it comes to tourists. I had been touring around the subcontinent for a little over two months at this point so I was familiar with this kind of behavior, where at first I was sort of confused by how unafraid and bold these little kids can be. They held out their tiny hands and stared up at me longing for something. I didn't know what to do so I held out my hand and the two little girls grabbed my fingers with surprsing strength. I smiled as they clamped down on my fingers and laughed at the confused looks of the other tourists who passed by. I wished so much I that I could speak Hindi so I could hear the stories that these little people would tell but instead all could do was hold on and bridge the language barrier with my grip. |
