Great Travel Moment

When my friends and I were traveling in Europe, we took an overnight train from Austria to Zurich, Switzerland. We grossly miscalculated the length of the trip, and found ourselves awoken on the train at 5:00am. When we arrived in Zurich early on Sunday morning, the city was still asleep and naturally our hotel couldn't check us in. We rolled our luggage back out onto the quiet cobblestone streets, and went in search of an open café. After walking for a while without success, we ended up on the river. Our stomachs were grumbling and we were getting cranky, but suddenly we looked around and realized how gorgeous the city was at that very moment. This picture captures the quiet, beautiful light of that morning, and also reminds me that some of the most memorable travel moments are the ones that you never would have planned.
