Great Travel Moment My boyfriend Larry and I are travel fanatics, or at least fanatical about the idea of traveling. As younger workers, we don't have as much money to travel to all the places we dream of. To save some cash this summer, we vacationed at my grandparents' cabin near Colorado Springs. We took a day trip to the Great Sand Dunes National Park, where this picture was taken. I was struck by the sight of Larry walking completely solitary in this highly unusual spot for sand dunes, with the swirling sky in the background. It looked as if we could have been on the other side of the world. Would anyone guess that this picture as taken in the middle of Colorado in a park where hundreds of thousands of people visit each year? I learned you don't have to travel far from home to have unique and incredible experiences. |
