Great Travel Moment

This moment captured the beauty of an early morning in southern India. Varkala Beach is located in the southern part of Kerala, India. Its cliffs line the Arabian Sea. One morning I was walking along the shore and came across the remnants of the fishermen's morning catch. There were few fish scattered about and the various birds were having breakfast. I sat mesmerized drinking coffee, watching the birds and the ocean dance. The kayak, of sorts, is used by the fisherman to help keep the fish trapped when bringing in the nets. They paddle around patrolling and keeping the edges of the net afloat. I was amazed at the ingenuity of the boats in India. What a way to ease into the day.
