Great Travel Moment This is part of a series of photos taken of canoes in Panama on Kuna Yala (San Blas). I came across this trio of canoes out of the water on one of the larger islands. My daughter and I took a walk away from the main paths and found this bit of loveliness at the furthest point. I took a series of photos, as these boats were art to me, although they were still transportation to the Kuna. The sense of color possessed by these people is remarkable, from their molas to their canoes, it is everywhere. I live in Western Washington, and this was December. Home is gray, cold and damp. The colors are all muted. Although I love it there, traveling to this tropical paradise made my heart sing. |
