Great Travel Moment Our family was on a Disney Cruise and one of our stops was in Cozumel, Mexico. Our 11 year old daughter, Kara, had always been intrigued by turtles and wanted to do a shore excursion to a turtle sanctuary. With limited time, we decided to rent a jeep and explore the island instead. On the opposite side of the island, away from the town and port, we discovered beautiful, unspoiled beaches. We stopped to look at mysterious dug outs at one of the beaches which turned out to be impressions left by turtles that had lay eggs months before. We were lucky to be at the right place at the right time. The eggs were harvested and raised at the sanctuary. The sanctuary happened to be releasing a crate full of baby turtles and they let our daughters guide them to the water. It was an experience they?ll never forget! |
