Great Travel Moment My husband and I traveled to Egypt for a two week visit. I love all things Ancient Egyptian and have wanted to visit Egypt since childhood. My trip was made more spectacular because I experienced it with my husband, my best friend. We did not use an escorted tour, but traveled rather independently. We met contacts at each location, who handled our paperwork and arranged our individual visits to historical sites. In Luxor, we visited the west bank of the Nile River, where royal tombs and mortuary temples are located. We explored the majestic Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir-el-Bahri. She was the only female pharaoh of Ancient Egypt. The limestone walls of the temple were carved with numerous scenes of the Queen's life. This is just one of the beautiful scenes. |
