Great Travel Moment I remember laying face down in the sand, sweating in the wicked heat and persistent sunshine, waiting for my angle: for the man and his camel to meander to the exact spot I envisioned. It wasn't quick and it wasn't painless (the sand burned my thighs and the sun burned my calves: I walked away from this very red and looking somewhat like a lobster). But I like this photo because it reminds of something that is very important. Travel isn't easy, but when you are patient and willing, it rewards you. Traveling the world, for me, is much like taking this photograph: the process is hard, but when looking back you're always glad you did it. |
