Great Travel Moment When I was in 7th grade, my family got the opportunity to travel to Kenya for the holidays. We spent days on different safaris throughout the country seeing the most amazing creatures. The ones that still mesmerize me to this day are the elephants (tembo in Swahili). During the time this photo was taken, it was sunset on the savanna and we came across a herd of elephants. They were moving so slowly and so gracefully that I couldn't help but stare. How could something so big move with such ease? I saw this little family moving together through the grass and the littlest one scampered towards our jeep, let out a squeak, then tripped on the ground. He got up and ran to hide behind his mother. I just remember that because of the interaction and connection that animals and humans have together. |
