Great Travel Moment

While staying on the island of Santorini, Greece, we walk from our hotel to the center of town of Fira. Although it is only a 15-minute walk, it is all uphill and hot in the afternoon sun. We walk on a concrete path that winds through a cement walled maze with many twists and turns, getting lost several times, but using the blue domed church as our guide to get to the top of the hill. All of a sudden, there is a place to pause at a blue wrought iron gate with a view of the Aegean in the distance. Later I swim in that warm sea - floating on my back, looking up at the absolute amazing blue sky and thinking I have never felt so relaxed and peaceful as at that moment. The peace and tranquility of those memories remain with me.
