Great Travel Moment

Being teachers, we have extended periods for vacations and use this time to really experience the daily life at a destination rather than zooming in and zooming out like many are forced to do. This ability allowed us to be lucky enough to immerse ourselves in the Balinese culture last year, where on one of our day trips to the local craft villages, temples and rice paddies, we shot the picture that we are submitting. The photo, which depicts the jubilation of several young school children after being released from their school's flag ceremony rehearsals for the day, reminded us of our own students and the universally shared joy of being let out of school at the end of the day! It is a moment like this, when the universality of people of all cultures becomes so clear, that makes traveling so valuable to us.
