Great Travel Moment On our way between Oslo and Bergen, my family stopped in Geilo for the night so that we could tour Vemork, the hydroelectric power plant that once produced heavy-water, the next day. There wasn't a whole lot to do in Geilo, so my father and I wandered around the countryside and happened upon this beautiful church and and graveyard. The church itself wasn't anything spectacular, unlike the stave church in Telemark, but it was just a perfect evening with my father. Everything was just so peaceful, simple, and quiet as my father and I bonded over our love for the beautiful surroundings as the sun went down with out another single soul in sight. This turned out to be one of the best nights of our trip, even though we were in the middle of nowhere. |
