Great Travel Moment Semana Santa, Holy Week, in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico is a religious celebration that has not changed for hundreds of years. Processions of adults dressed in black carrying statues, and children singing take place each day. Locals and tourists crowd the streets to witness these spectacles. One night my wife and I wandered into a small church in town. Inside a group of nuns were praying by candlelight. We stayed. A solumn spiritual experience we will never forget. |
