Great Travel Moment In 2007, I traveled with my grandma to Kenya. She was 85 at the time (now 87), and I was 24. We visited my cousin and his wife, who were living in Kilifi, on the Indian Ocean. One evening, we took a sail through the Kilifi harbor, on the boat of Captain Hassan. We felt like we were in his home as we sailed along, enjoying home-made samosas and coconut cake. Huge flocks of birds came in to roost, and we took in one of the most spectacular sunsets I have ever seen. It was both deeply relaxing and stirring, and I'm so grateful to have shared the experience with such a special person in my life. |
