Great Travel Moment My husband and I are intrigued by United States history and felt it imperative that we visit the nation's capital. I wasn't prepared to be so moved by visiting the Lincoln Memorial. It was my favorite of all of the memorials not only because of the greatness of President Lincoln, but the sheer majesty of the work of art. We walked to most of our destinations and it gave us time to chat about what we had already seen and get excited about where we were heading to next. We made sure to end each day with a leisurely dinner and instead of hurrying about trying to take it all in, we relaxed and enjoyed every bite of what I call "vacation food." Vacation food is delicious cuisine that you normally don't indulge in because it is too expensive or caloric...but you are allowed on vacation! |
