Great Travel Moment

I took this photo while visiting San Cristobal de las Casas in Chiapas, Mexico. Located just out of the cloud forests, the city was cool and overcast for most of our five-day visit. We were there for the Day of the Dead celebration, having heard they know how to celebrate in San Cristobal. The church in this photo was located near the edge of town with a large open plaza in front of it. Despite the dark skies, we walked to it one day as we explored the town. I was struck by the contrast between the dark clouds signaling the coming rain and the light and airy prayer flags that were flapping in the wind. I can even remember the sound the flags made as I snapped the picture.
