Great Travel Moment

A small plane from Zambia took us to Lake Malawi where we spent a very laid back week in a hand hewn rock cottage built literally on the lake, surrounded by colorful red bougainvilla bushes. A long wooden boardwalk connected our cottage with the main lodge on the shore. but we were otherwise surrounded by the waters of the lake. From the local village nearby, there was a consistent flow of boats with make shift sails, fashioned from grain bags or recycled fabrics making their way up the lake to fish throughout the day, from early morning until sunset. This particular evening, two young boys passed by our cottage as they were returning to shore with the days catch. Sun setting in the background, with just the silhouette of the boat and the fishermen as the days efforts come to an end on the calm and peaceful waters of Lake Malawi. It was a perfect ending to an idyllic day on the lake!
