Great Travel Moment Yearly family vacations have created some of the most lasting memories of my entire life. There was the yearly pilgrimage to Cape Cod and grander adventures to Ireland, Costa Rica, and the national parks out west. This trip to Alaska though served as the first family vacation since the passing of my grandmother, whose Cape Cod summer home served as the location of so many of those great childhood memories for both me and my mother. Selling that home devastated my mother. Our initial stop in Alaska took us to a bed and breakfast in Anchorage where this photo was taken. I like to think that my mom, while actually staring at the mountains in the distance, was really standing in the clouds sharing a private moment with her mother. |
