Great Travel Moment Charming is the word to describe Carmel. When I arrived, I let out an "Ahhhhh" and felt my body relax. The whole vibe of the place invites you to relax, rest, stay a while. The mornings and evenings were softened by the fog that moved in from the ocean that sits at the bottom of the main street. While the sun was out, I liked to sit at the beach and watch the dolphins play in the breakers (no kidding). Walking around the village, I admired and photographed the architectural details of the well-kept homes and businesses. Carmel is a short drive to Big Sur where I have visited the Henry Miller Library and even heard Philip Glass give a concert. I have also driven to nearby Monterey to visit the Aquarium in the morning and then to take photos of the deer that hang out in the cemetery. This area is a place like no other... pretty magical. |
