Great Travel Moment There's something about nature that brings me to my knees. This is one of those places. As my husband and I hiked up nearly 5,000 feet to the top of Santiago Peak, the highest point in Orange County, California, we stopped along the trail to look at our final destination. Up at the top of the mountain, satellites and antennas reign, and from the trail, we were embedded in the chaparral surroundings, looking at the wildflowers and the wild California poppies. To look at our goal up ahead from where we were was amazing and a bit unnerving at the same time. |
