Great Travel Moment As my first experience in Europe and as an expatriate in Paris for ten days, I became overwhelmed with the beauty of Parisian culture. Lost in the endless art found in cathedrals, museums, and in street vendors' bins, it was bliss. It wasn't hard for me to remember I was obviously a tourist to any European in Paris. But one day, after crossing the street in front of Notre Dame (a landmark I passed so often it became unforgettably familiar), I happened to look back and notice a group of men on horseback approaching. After a group of buses and cars passed, none other than the French Cavalry came marching down the street. At that moment, I fell back into that feeling of gratefulness. To have experienced such a simple, yet organic moment was unforgettable; the fact that I snapped a photo of this moment only eternalized the significance. |
