Great Travel Moment I took this photo in the Nubra Valley, in Jammu and Kashmir, India. We took an overnight trip from Ladakh, which is a nearby area with lots of Buddhist temples. Nubra Valley, however, is all about the scenery. As we descended into the valley, we were stunned by its incredible beauty. In an otherwise barren landscape, you could see from the mountain passes that the Nubra Valley was like a little oasis, with a small river snaking through it and causing brief patches of green. We went for a hike upon arriving. It was extremely cloudy when we left, but as we walked the clouds parted, shining rays of sunlight on the mountainsides like carefully placed spotlights. We were lucky enough to see a double rainbow on that hike as well, although this picture remains my favorite. It remains one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. |
