Great Travel Moment My daughter and I participated in a school trip in April 2009 to visit our nation's capital, Washington D.C. It was a 5 day trip in which I helped chaperone. The tours were so well organized that I saw more of Washington and it's sites then I had in 1992 when I went in college. I enjoyed the 911 memorials, all the war memorials (especially the Korean very striking at night), we visited Mt Vernon. The city itself was BEAUTIFUL the city was right in the middle of Cherry Blossom Festival, how lucky was that! I really was awe struck by Arlington cemetary and the changing of the guard at the Unknown soldiers grave. I would have to say the National Cathedral was a shock as well I never seen something so immense and yet so beautiful. |
