Great Travel Moment In November of 2006 I went on my first wild bird hunt, in Kansas, with a very good friend of mine who is pictured here with one of his bird dogs, Ellie. I grew up in the great mid-west, but have been living on the east coast of the US for the past 20 years. This trip had quite an impact on me, as it took me right back to my childhood in the mid-west since the wide open, vast, and rolling terrain reminded me of my time spent in Oklahoma. My good friend here mentored me through my early upland hunting stages and watching him and Ellie work together was quite remarkable. The connection between man and canine can be amazing and this moment had a lot of influence on me. I since rescued a beautiful and loving German Shorthaired Pointer who has truly enriched my life since. |
