Great Travel Moment On our Alaskan adventure vacation, my wife and I first visited Denali National Park. After flying from the east coast of the US, then taking a 13-hr train ride from Anchorage to Denali, we spent a couple days there hiking through the park, doing bus tours, and other activities. The weather was rather uncooperative and visibility was very poor. We then had to get to our next destination so we boarded the train back to Anchorage. Train staff had informed us that viewing Mt. McKinley is a rare treat due to the weather system created by the mountain and maybe visible 3 days a month. We thought for sure that we had missed the window, when an hour into our ride back, train staff observed and promptly announced that the weather had cleared and presented us with this amazing view. Quite a rare treat. |
