Great Travel Moment Sometimes what you think are initially ruined photographs end up being the most interesting. Having lived in Paris for a year as a college student I eagerly returned this summer five years later and spent a week revisiting some of my favorite places, among them the Champ de Mars by the Eiffel Tower. Trying to shoot the most iconic symbol of Paris in a new way is a fantastic challenge so I took my time walking around and approaching it from many different angles looking through the viewfinder of my Polaroid camera. I realized that I had taken a shot from this spot many years ago and decided it would be fun to try and recreate it. At first I was dismayed when I saw the Polaroid spit out a partially torn photo, but the expired film cast a lovely blue tint that in the end I found serenely beautiful. |
