Great Travel Moment

This image captured the the essence of my travels to the remote Aeolian Islands,off the coast of Sicily. For years I had viewed magazines with photos of small fishing villages and said to myself,"I really need to make such images,they are quite beautiful." Here in Lingua on the island of Salina, my dream came true. This picture is one of my favorites, for it reminds me of how time stands still in such a complex busy world full of problems. Lingua has remained unchanged over the years and so has its people. What stays is the simplicity, serenity, and beauty of the night that I have documented in this image.
