Great Travel Moment I studied abroad in Costa Rica this past semester (Fall 08) and some friends and I traveled to the AMAZING beach Playa Conchal, located near Brasilito in the Guanacaste province. We rode a bus 6 hours, took unmarked taxis to Brasilito, ate at a delicious local soda everyday, and one afternoon had the immense pleasure of fording a small river (the tide was in), traipsing across Playa Brasilito, trekking through a short path in the trees, and finding the most gorgeous beach waiting for us. Playa Conchal is made up of thousands of crushed seashells, making the beach a beautiful white, which the clearest turquoise blue water I've ever seen on the Pacific Coast. Definitely an unbelievable, unforgettable experience! Highly recommended to anyone who doesn't want to be in the "overly-gringo" areas of Costa Rica, and who just loves beautiful beaches and warm people. Pura Vida. |
