Great Travel Moment In the Southern Indian town of Tiruvannamalai my girlfriend took up a daily habit of visiting the local flower market where she bought bags of flowers to string garlands for our room, hosts, friends, alters and just tho make. Stepping back into the dark, covered, wet back alleys was truly an exotic and timeless experience. Full of characters caught out of the corner of one's eye, I took to photographing them, like this seller, while they fawned over helping her spend her rupees. We still have many of the dried flowers. |
