Great Travel Moment To fully get to know a place, weeks are necessary. However, my time is always limited so I choose an area of a city that I am most interested in, and focus my energies there. I have always dreamed of going to Montmartre, the artist's quarter. Artists such as Picasso, Dali, and Latrec have their roots here. Just walking amidst the cozy streets lined with shops and cafes, was dazzling. One could spend half a day at Place du Tertre just watching the local artists painting scenes of life in Paris. The photograph above was my first view of the basicila from Place du Tertre, as the sun was slowly setting on Paris. The basilica was bathed in a golden light, adding a holy hue to the image. |
