Great Travel Moment On a quiet walk around the top of Victoria Peak in Hong Kong on my last day there I wandered up a driveway and spotted this statue. Next to opulent gates on one of the most expensive pieces of land on the earth stood this regal figure. I was with my aunt who at 70+ is and has been a central figure in my life, acted as parent, confidante and friend and we stood there in contemplation of the subtle beauty and endurance of this symbol. We continued the circuit of the peak mostly in silence. An amazing way to end two weeks of family, hiking in territory out of a Li Cheng painting, and the best three day party on earth- the Hong Kong Sevens rugby tournament. |
