Great Travel Moment As our ship sailed away from Roseau, the capital of Dominica, we reflected on just how much the other islands we had visited are overdeveloped and overrun with beach resorts and fast food joints. We spent our day on Dominica bouncing up and down potholed filled roads and through a lush rainforest. We were introduced to fresh water crabs and insects we had never imagined. We soaked our bodies in the Emerald Pool below a beautiful waterfall, and watched in wonder and amazement as steam poured out of rivers and streams. We ended our journey at the Ruins Rock Cafe in Roseau, where we sampled a variety of homemade rums before we stumbled back to our ship. The cricket stadium on the left was donated by the Chinese government according to our tour guide, who also told us his grandmother lived to be well over 110 years old. |
