Great Travel Moment I was in Anchorage for work, and had some free time to explore. Coming from Florida, I enjoyed driving through the formidable landscape of Alaska. I stopped along the Glenn Highway, headed to Palmer, to take this photo. The inlets and waterways are all tidal, and when the tide is out in the water's place is a mud flat with deadly beauty - I'm told that at least once every year, someone tries to walk out into the mud flats and gets stuck in the quicksand-like mud and drowns when the tide comes rushing back in again. |
