Great Travel Moment

This humble road side shrine in Zihuatanejo, Mexico caught my eye. As a traveller, I fell in love with the beauty, simplicity and magic of this spot. At the edge of a bus stop, on a noisy street, my spirit found a temporary home. It summarized everything I love about travelling in Mexico; tremendous beauty offered up with humility and magic for free. Often the grandiose palaces and tourist destinations are glitzy and over rated; what the people create from sheer love of their culture cannot be quantified. While this was not a church or a resort, there was grace in this place. The man who took the picture sensed it as well, and winked at me as he left the spot.
