Great Travel Moment I didn't know until less than an hour before we arrived that Washington state's Olympic National Park would be where I'd celebrate my birthday last October. An area known to get lots and lots of rain (that's what makes rainforests so lush and green!), we somehow managed to get an entire weekend of sunshine. The fall foliage was spectacular around Lake Quinalt, and walking in the forest felt like I'd stumbled into the Land of Oz with incredible carpets of green. Wow, what a birthday present I'll never forget. |
