Great Travel Moment It was the 4th of July and let me tell you who needs fireworks when you have glaciers. On an Alaskan cruise we stopped in Glacier Bay National Park and heard these loud booming noises in the distance. As we got closer to the glacier we saw the source of the noise. It was a spectacular display of glacier calving. Huge pieces of ice were falling into the water. It was one of the most amazing things I?ve ever seen and heard. Hundreds of people were on the deck watching and it was silent as everyone stood in amazement watching this incredible moment. |
