Great Travel Moment This photo reminds me of the slow, rhythmic pace of life in an Indian village. I was working for a development organization in Rajasthan and spending a couple days a week in a village called Madri. The development organization was opening a youth center in the village, and I was working on the project. For me, this picture encapsulates the village economy. The village was pervaded with a sense of entrepreneurialism, but always moved at its own comfortable, slow pace. It was a more demure form of capitalism, balancing enterprise and growth with a commitment to traditional values and community. The photo reminds me of the great color and creativity that I witnessed in every aspect of life. |
