Great Travel Moment Sometimes the road we travel is not paved, or even made of earth. And sometimes a trip to a wedding extends beyond the ballroom. While many guests flew into Vancouver for under 48 hours to celebrate two good friends' nuptials, my girlfriend suggested we take greater advantage of the long flight from New York. On a 10-day trip, despite scant sunlight, we delighted in having tea in Victoria; and hiking trails, surfing and kayaking on Vancouver Island before exploring the city and joining the wedding festivities. We paddled the Broken Group Islands accompanied only by seals, bald eagles and countless purple and orange starfish. For me, this photo captures the peace and grandeur of our surroundings that day, and the kayaks signal the two of us side by side, embarking on another adventure. We are now engaged and hope to share many more moments like this one around the world. |
