Great Travel Moment I spent a month traveling/volunteering in rural Rajasthan, India with an organization that is working with the government to educate girls. Community organizing is a big part of this organization?s strength. One morning, a few team members and I met with local education officials and village elders to make the case for sending more girls to school. A group of villagers, including some women and girls came to listen in on the group meeting. When they entered, there was a wash of vibrant color. The women and girls were intrigued but shy. Although these girls were not yet in school, I could see their eagerness and their potential. I took the photo because I wanted to remember them and the promise we made to them that day. |
