Great Travel Moment

This photo was taken in Polignano a Mare in Puglia on a bright sunny Spring Day. The sight of the old walled city perched on top of the bright blue green sea brought tears to my eyes. It represented lightness and hope and possibility This was especially meaningful to me as almost exactly a year ago to the day this picture was taken I received a diagnosis of leukemia. For the past twelve months I have battled to make my way out of the darkness and despair. I thought I would never feel happiness again. But here I was, a year later, seeing such beauty in front of me and feeling a deep sense of peace. So for me this isn't just a picture but a symbol of all that I have survived and all the joy that lies ahead.
