Great Travel Moment A long and bumpy dirt road in Death Valley leads to a dry lakebed called "The Racetrack". In the hard, dry mud are rocks with tracks indicating their movements when the mud was wet. In this picture I am contemplating the mystery of what makes these rocks move. Later, I tried walking, and then running with my eyes closed. I discovered that no matter how hard I tried I could not walk in a straight line for more than five minutes. I couldn't keep my eyes closed while running for more than a few seconds. It was an interesting psychological experience. |
