Great Travel Moment

This photo was taken near Ta Prohm temple in Cambodia. These young singers/beggars appeared from the bush to give us a song. Shortly after their appearance, a security officer on his rounds scared the young singers back into the bush from which they had come. The youngest of them hadn't learned yet to run on sight of security and she was left behind, crying. One of her partners in crime soon returned to save her. Stories such as this really drive home how fortunate I am to have not been born into poverty. Children working in any way they can, barefoot, to earn money for food is no way to spend ones childhood. Stories like this drive me to work toward helping the less fortunate nations of the world.
