Great Travel Moment

I don't think anyone who has been to Venice could ever look at a canal anywhere and not think of it. None can compare to the canals of Venice. The contrasts are amazing. While riding in a Gondola down a narrow passageway, looking above you see a glimpse of a blue sky and clouds. On either side of you are fabulous buildings teaming with everyday village life. On one turn you see the days laundry hanging, another a couple enjoying a glass of wine. On the way going under bridges, listening to the Gondola sailors singing, being startled by a pigeon, and passing the signature candy striped poles, there is no other experience like it.
