Great Travel Moment

Our family took a Royal Caribbean cruise to the eastern Caribbean in July, 2008. Our children had never been outside the United States and had the opportunity to experience the sights and culture of places such as Haiti, St. Maarten and Puerto Rico. Kids today are so insulated in their lives with television, video games, ipods, and cell phones. This trip was an opportunity to expose them to the way of life in other places, which we experienced in several excursions. On this particular day, we docked in St. Maarten and enjoyed the beautiful surf on the eastern coast of the Dutch side of the island. The taxi ride from Phillipsburg to Dawn Beach was as much of an experience as the time at the beach. The island of St. Bart's was in the distance. The time spent that day with family in a special and different place makes it memorable for us.
