Great Travel Moment

I was hesitant about taking the 3-day long Nile cruise up the river from Cairo and opted instead for an overnight train ride from Giza to Luxor. It arrived to its final destination very early in the morning. I checked into my hotel and stepped out on a balcony. What I saw took my breath away. There was the river Nile and the West Bank not quite awaken yet by the rising sun, in all its splendor. Later that day I visited the Valleys (of the Kings and of the Queens), the Hatshepsut Temple, the Madinat Habu and several other ancient wonders. Naturally, I took lots of pictures. But this here photo of the river stuck in my mind as a Travel Moment to remember, to cherish, and to share with my grandchildren back home in America.
