Great Travel Moment We were driving from the Karnack Temple back to Luxor through the streets of small village that looked as desolate as the barren desert surrounding it. At one of the doorways, stood a young woman, her face cloudy with somber expression and her golden robe vibrant like the brilliant sun that parches the wasteland, which many years ago, was a home to the mightiest rulers of their time. The picture was taken from the car and I did not have but a glimpse at the girl but the memory of her face, the colors of her dress and the vivid doorway she stood in will remain in my memory as much as the monumental remains of the ancient temples. |
